Mini Vci J2534 Driver Windows 10
A couple years ago, I bought the MINI-VCI adapter with drivers and software from fleabay, only to find out it would not install the driver on newer versions of windows. Not being a computer guru, I tried one method at the time to install it i found online, only to get a virus from the registry editor download. Needless to say, I deleted all traces of it, cleaned up my HD with Kaspersky, and threw the damn thing in the bottom of a drawer. Fast forward to yesterday - I'm helping a friend troubleshoot some issues on his 2006 Tundra, and I really wanted it working. I did some searching hoping someone had come out with a solution or newer driver installer, and this is what I found. Needless to say, I updated my Kaspersky and backed up all my info before beginning. I downloaded all the files except the russian?? Installation manual at the bottom and burned them to a disc for future use if needed, and printed the 17 page installation manual so I could follow step-by-step. It worked perfectly, about 45 min later I had techstream connected to my truck and working fine. I did have to install Java to make techstream happy, and choose my language and region on the techstream installation screens that was not mentioned in the instructions, but that was straightforward.
I ran a full system scan with no issues found, and it's working for me. Unfortunately, that's all the guarantee and tech support I know how to give, but I did want to share the good news. FYI anyone wanting to try this, use a laptop of computer (or virtual machine) that you have zero personal information on and you do not banking or commerce with. #1 top attack vector (phishing, malware, spyware.etc) is from these kinds of unauthorized downloads. Techstream is a paid-for item from Toyota.
Any pirated copies, wow rolling the dice there. Go ahead and use it but on a laptop that is disposable and you do zero personal or private work with source: this is what I do for a living (everything and anything in the CISSP). Would someone PLEASE post some GOOD step by step instructions on how to install the techstream software on windows 10 64. Ive tried 15 different tutorials on windows 10 and XP and have yet to complete the installation.
I could get to the connect vehicle step, but it then prompts me that there is a new version of techstream and i am FORCED to install. The version I got with my cable is 10.30.029, but the message says this is out of date as of March 2016. The tutorial i followed was: but again, I cant connect to my vehicle because it forces me to install the latest version. Of course clicking on Install takes you to the official TIS site and asks for user passwords.
Can anyone help?? BTW my vehicle is a 2016 Tacoma Limited. That's the same version I installed, I followed the installation manual (PDF file in the link I gave above) to a tee - I actually printed the darn thing to make it easier to follow step-by-step. I have not had any issues with a 'Forced update', used it as recently as last week with only one small issue - It won't diplay the DTC screen for TPMS - but will show the Data and will program sensor ID's. I have not tried connecting to a 2016 or newer, so that could be the difference, but 10.30.029 is an early 2016 version, so??? Fast forward to the future, OP has found some better files and retried with a lot of success. I have also followed the instructions to the T and was able to finally connect the vehicle to the laptop using the mini cable and software. The issue I have is when I go to program the smart key for my vehicle I get an error message: This is on the selection screen after you connect the vehicle and select your make and model of the car, and then select 'Smart Access' to program a smart key.
