Yes, the coding will be different for processor and also the dependent circuits. Going through such complex thinks may consume more time and money. Thats why i said i just want to edit its display section/ graphical property like boot logo, icons, background image etc, if possible i want to edit refresh ratio of signal indication. I am not trying to edit processor configuration, all the working remains same with different outlook like themes in computer. If it is possible, we can optimize the performance of our set top box via adding low process consuming graphics.

If it is possible, we can optimize the performance of our set top box via adding low process consuming graphics. We get these coding software called Stimulator/Emulator. I remember the first ever microprocessor coding 8086 chip set.

Similarly using these software we can edit the firmware. I don't recollect the name of this stimulator or editor, its been more than 15yrs since college days.

But trust me this is not a easy task, this purely with assembly level programming technique, even to display a pic or graphics we had to write some 100 line code considering all possibilities.
