Vex Usb Serial Driver
Our Vex team currently has this hardware and firmware: -vex cortex and normal joystick controllers -Latest version of everything (vex, robotc, all cortex & joystick firmware, vexnet 2.0 & keys) -OLD programming cable (full orange) I have not figured out how to program wirelessly over vexnet. I have followed the instructions, but I get lots of different error messages. Do I need the newest programming cable to make this work? Am I missing drivers that don't come automatically with robotc?

-(Paraphrased) unable to tell if connected to joystick or controller. -Long error with 5 parts because it can't tell what I'm trying to do so it gives me different instructions for different scenarios -Just tons of different errors about not being able to detect the controller on the other side of the programming dongle. Can't remember any others but I'm pretty sure it's the programming cable because the errors don't change whether I'm using the Vexnet 2.0 keys or direct USB connection between joystick and robot. I don't know how to link the joysticks to the cortex without a USB to USB cable. You may have to go out and buy one. Though, it isn't too hard to find one.
Having a USB to USB also helps because I find it better to install the firmware via USB. Reinstall all the firmware.
(For Cortex it's MasterCPU then RobotC). Don't install your program yet. Just unplug the controller or cortex from the computer, then put the orange USB to USB into the controller on one end and the other end into the Cortex. Turn either the controller or cortex on (Doesn't matter which, but personally I turn both on to be sure). Let it blink and stuff for like 10 seconds, then unplug and turn off. Plug your Vexnet keys in and they should link.
Then just program.
